These photos are from a project done the summer and fall of 2025 as an intern at Pacific Rivers. The North Umpqua River in southern Oregon was the inspiration for founding Pacific Rivers. They continue to work throughout this legendary watershed to conserve unprotected portions of the upper tributaries in order to reshape how this river is managed. These images were compiled into an interactive storymap highlighting the importance of individual creeks for the future of the North Umpqua’s salmon and steelhead runs.
